Kurds are one of the largest ethnic group without an official nation in the world. Many Kurds live in underserved communities or they are recognized as refugees in host countries. Similarly to our founders, many Kurdish refugee face challenges pursuing quality education due to the economic and systemic barriers.

We believe that a good quality education is the one of the solutions to serve undeserved communities by creating future leaders.

The Amed Medical Foundation (AMF) is dedicated to improve the education of Kurdish refugees living in diaspora who are interested in pursuing higher education to invest in their communities. AMF also funds academic projects and initiatives dedicated to provide educational materials and tools to students in underserved communities in the world. 
Education Scholarship
Eligibility:
  • Current or former Kurdish refugee
  • We welcome applications from non-Kurdish refugees.
  • Pursuing education at internationally recognized school or education system or academic organization. Verification is needed by providing evidence of current attendance.
  • Complete scholarship application 
  • Complete Essay
  • Provide Letter of Recommendation (recommended but not required)
  • Can apply for up to the amount of $2000 a year
  • One scholarship per student
  • Students will be selected based on number of applications throughout the academic year.​
  • Scholarship should be used for education-related expenses
