Newroz Healthcare Fellowship
The Newroz Healthcare Fellowship exposes students from underserved backgrounds and communities to the various aspects of healthcare and clinical experiences while providing innovative training and opportunities in serving your communities.

If you are selected to the fellowship then you will have the opportunity to work with one of our clinical partners, learn about health education, lead a preventive project and receive effective guidance to achieve your goals of becoming medical providers to serve your community in the future. 

Our clinical experiences are currently available in Atlanta and Nashville.
Be a Newroz Project Healthcare Fellow
Our fellowship program is a low-effort, high-impact leadership experience.

Term:
One year with option of an extension for another year based on project and activity.

What are the benefits of being a Healthcare Fellow?
  • Work with a dedicated and wonderful team of students and healthcare providers interested in community service
  • Gain exposure to clinical experience and medical network
  • Lead community prevention project
  • Advance health education in underserved communities. 
  • Nurture leadership and community service skills
  • Scholarship: $500-$1500 based on project and activity 
  • Sponsorship of healthcare examination cost (MCAT, NCLEX, etc)
  • Receive a high quality stethoscope.
  • Potential letter of recommendation 
  • Access to network of medical professionals

What do I have to do as a Healthcare Fellow?
  • Be professional and dedicated to serving the community
  • Positive attitude and hard working (key to success in medicine)
  • Train and mentor future Healthcare Fellows
  • Work on Educate & Prevent Initiative
  • Small time commitment: minimum 4-6 hours a month with option to increase the dedicated hours based on availability and season.

What is the Education & Prevent Initiative (EPi)?
  • Community heath project created and led by Newroz Fellows

Who can be a Healthcare Fellow?
  • High school students, undergraduate or graduate Students
  • ​Reside in Nashville or Atlanta or surrounding areas.
  • Motivated and interested in engaging with other volunteers and the community

How do you become a Healthcare Fellow
  • Complete the fellowship application​​
  • Have updated immunization record
  • Complete the FREE HIPPA training and certificate (link)
  • Photo
  • We will review the application and notify you about the status
